Every day you create your reality through your thoughts, with your unconscious thoughts and limiting beliefs influencing up to 95% of your behaviour. Despite wanting different results, your unconscious thoughts and limiting beliefs may be getting in the way of you achieving your goals.
Your psyche is made up of two components – the conscious and unconscious mind. In your everyday ordinary state of consciousness, you identify with only a fraction of who you really are. What you think, how you behave, and your daily experiences are heavily influenced by what is stored within your unconscious mind. We actually have little control over living an empowered life, achieving our goals, or reaching our highest potential if our behaviour is influenced by negative thought patterns and limiting beliefs.
The first step to living an empowered life is to change your reality and your experience of the world. To do this, it’s important to bring conscious awareness to your thinking patterns and feelings and to explore the external forces that shaped you as you are today. From this awareness, you can consciously choose a new way to view the world and ultimately a new way of being in this world.
True change happens at a conscious level. It is important to remember that change does not come easily. It challenges existing beliefs, which creates discomfort, uncertainty, and resistance. Most people, if given the choice, will take the easy option, the one that requires the least resistance. Resistance happens unconsciously, it’s what holds you back from achieving your goals. Working through resistance is fundamental to the coaching process. If you do not live with full awareness, you will revert back to the way things have always been, even if you have a deep sense within that it is not congruent with who you really are or who you really wish to be.
